Complete plans for a cozy timber frame house or cottage to build yourself.

The Walton is a timberframe cottage with 1100 sq. ft. of living area. It could serve as a very livable year-round home for a couple who has moved on to a simpler life after raising a family, or for a single person.

Upstairs it has a bedroom with ensuite bath, and also a loft area overlooking the dining room. The loft would make a lovely office or craft space and could accommodate visitors with a pull-out couch.

The open-concept downstairs has an efficient kitchen, full bath, and a vaulted dining area and living room designed to take advantage of a view. Add the deck for inside-outside living.

The Walton is also available as architectural prints (houseplans).

1. Complete timber frame drawings

The shop prints include a fully labeled and dimensioned timber floor joist plan, roof plan, bents and elevations. Label plans locate the joints detailed on the joinery and peg detail pages.

2. Joinery & Peg Details

There are detailed drawings of all the joints in the frame, as well as peg placements.

3. Construction Section and Foundation

Drawings are supplied for both a 10” and 8’ foundation wall thickness, and for three optional enclosure systems. Details for an optional timber sill are provided as well.
